Lana Weber, CPPM is a thought leader who uses her 20+ years of experience to consult on business readiness and decision support capabilities. She leads programs and projects that deliver results.

Lana enjoys the journey. She is continuously learning and applying her global experience to dynamic organizations that want to transform. She wants her work to make a real difference and is passionate about the health, well-being and education of children.

Lana received Bachelors Degrees in Science in Business / Human Resources and French from St. Cloud State University. As key part of this education, she studied abroad at the University of Toulouse, France. This was the first of many international trips that fueled her passion for travel and the learnings that can only come from that global experience.

From 1990 to 2007 she was a leader at UnitedHealth Group. During this time, the organization grew from a small company with a few health plans to a $70B internationally renowned platform company. Lana was the architect of a center of excellence to develop capabilities and support dynamic growth and scale. She was the executive lead for all real estate M&A due diligence and integration for 50+ acquisitions (deals up to $9.2B). She developed a public incentives management and partnership practice.

She traveled extensively in the 48 contiguous states and Puerto Rico and when the company expanded globally, she led global enterprise relationship management and strategic planning for 12M sf international portfolio. In 2006, she was the corporate services lead for the new claims management business model development and implementation in India. She was recognized as a strategic leader and practice architect driving program development, portfolio management and project management.

In 2007, Lana was appointed to the Board of Directors and in 2011 was elected as the Chairperson of the Board of Directors for CornerHouse, an accredited children’s advocacy center also known for its global training program. She continues to serve and support this organization and is a passionate advocate for child safety.

In 2013, she led Medtronic’s international portfolio management initiative and program management development.

In 2018 & 2019 Lana attended the FBI Compliance Academy. It was the first of it’s kind outside of Quanticio and focused on economic espionage, white-collar crime, the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, emerging cyber threats, export controls, risk mitigation planning and situational awareness for violent events.

Currently, she is the Executive Director of Depart Smart, a nonprofit focused on international travel safety. She is responsible for the strategic initiatives, operations, finance and business development for this award-winning, travel safety platform company. She recently led the development and implementation of a new business model and technology platform – to be released Fall 2020. She develops and maintains strategic relationships with industry leadership and speaks on travel safety preparedness.

She also serves on the leadership team for the Minneapolis Chapter of Singularity University, a global learning and innovation community using exponential technologies to solve grand challenges. In addition, she is a Founding Member and Board Advisor to University of St. Thomas Risk Leadership Program focused on strategic thought-leadership, ecosystem engagement and curriculum development around risk leadership.
